Meet Adriana

Coming from a small island in the Caribbean, I knew that one day I wanted to see what else the world has to offer. As a kid, I would watch documentaries on the History Channel about other cultures, which fostered my interest in exploring the unknown. At the mere age of 8, I embarked on my first international trip with my parents and it completely changed my life.

In 2017, Hurricane Maria destroyed Puerto Rico and I ended up finishing my senior year of high school in Florida. I got a scholarship to study in North Carolina where I got my degree in International Relations and Political Science in hopes of getting a better understanding of other cultures. I obtained another scholarship to study abroad in Germany and I loved it. Being exposed to people from different backgrounds as mine made me even more determined to travel.

Park hopping in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Bamboo forest in Kyoto, Japan

After graduating in 2022, I decided to take a gap year and after working three jobs, I embarked on my first solo backpacking trip. In six months, I traveled to 7 countries - Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. The thrill of solo traveling and exploring new places was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. What started as a mere break from studies and work has now become my biggest passion.

Adri Travels the World began as a way to share my passion for traveling and exploring the unknown. After finishing my backpacking trip, I grew eager to share my knowledge and all of the places that I’d been to with others.

While traveling, I barely encountered other women of color. I hope to inspire other women of color, especially Latinas, to break free of the mold placed by society and explore the world. I hope that Adri Travels the World serves as an inspiration and can help guide you when planning your next big adventure.

Sending you lots of love, Adriana :)
